I have a Generac 4000EXL that’s a couple of years old. we am informed with engines, so we gave it a tuneup, though something contingency be wrong with a electronics. If we try to run in Idle Control mode, it shuts off instantly. If we let it run in non-idle control, it pulsates in between resting as well as full energy at a rate of ~60Hz. I’m meditative it might be a Drive Module Power Regulator, though wish to be certain prior to we outlay a . A couple to a primer is here: http://www.generac-portables.com/data/pdf_files/IPL/01645_0partslistCw.pdf Any assistance would be severely appreciated!!

Does the automatic advance work when the unit has a partial load? Check the throttle advance linkage for smooth operation, if it is OK, then it is probably the DMPR. I’d check all of the electrical connections before buying anything and keep working on it this weekend. Do you have the proper voltage to the regulator? Take the readings with an analog meter at the terminals, not to the case.
