I usually paid for a 5500/8000 watt portable backup generator to run necessary apparatus (furnace, H2O pump, fridge, a couple of lights) during energy outages. we suspicion we would be all set, since my residence is already connected with a send switch in a basement, as good as a wire with a 4-prong block in a garage. However, when we got a generator home, we satisfied which we have a 20-amp plug, as good as it won’t fit a generator, which has a 30-amp outlet. we figure switching a block (to an L14-30P, as a primer calls for) will be easy enough, though right away I’m endangered which a connective tissue might usually be rated for twenty-five amps…it is a Carol SOOW 10/4 cable. Do we need to shift a wire as well? It appears to run in to a 50-amp breaker in a box in a garage, as good as from there goes subterranean to a send switch in a basement. Thanks in allege for any help.

What sort of adapter or setup do we need to bond a block from a room a/c section to a single of a outlets upon a generator? Is this even possible, since those outlets upon a generator have been usually 120v? we am meditative this is not possible. Thanks.
